An authentic and traditional Bodhi Seed Prayer Mala to say prayers and recite mantras. Also known as chyem in Dzongkha, this fine quality rosary has 108 beads. Each bead represents the 108 human afflictions or earthly desires. The dark-speckled seed beads are strung with an adjustable slip knot at the guru bead that enables you to adjust how tight or slack you want it.

All seekers of heavenly wisdom have a special connection to bodhi seed beads. In Sanskrit, the word “bodhi” means “enlightenment.” As a result, many practitioners employ them for their essence and the underlying teachings that each seed contains.

Buddhist prayer beads, or malas, are traditionally used to keep track of the repetitions of a mantra. The beads are counted humming recitations of mantras like “om mani padme hum, om tare tuttare ture soha, or om muni muni maha muniye soha,”. The sacred rosaries act as a channel of spiritual blessings from the enlightened deity. Today, they’re sometimes used as a mindfulness aid to promote peace and calm.
